Dr. Zegzula performed surgery on this 61 year old woman who had a mastectomy and reconstruction in 2009. During this time she did require radiation of the right chest wall, which had significant long-term effects on her right breast, leaving the right breast implant contracted and sitting too high with no projection. Dr. Zegzula performed a capsulectomy and replaced the right breast implant, as well as fat grafting to correct additional deformities of the right breast.

Dr. O'Brien performed surgery on this 41 year-old patient with a recent diagnosis of left breast cancer. She elected to proceed with bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomies with the immediate placement of silicone gel implants. By performing her reconstruction in this manner, she eliminated the 4-6 month time period for the more traditional tissue-expander approach to reconstruction. She is thrilled with her results. Aside from the scar along the lower part of her breast, it would be hard to tell that she had breast reconstruction at all.
