Long-Lasting Results with Sculptra in Portland

Sculptra is made with poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), not hyaluronic acid like other dermal fillers we use at MDBeautyLab here in Portland. This means that the results of Sculptra last longer but appear more gradually over time than dermal fillers, making it a popular choice for many of our patients. How Sculptra Aesthetic Works

Sculptra works by helping to restore volume in the cheeks, temples, and other areas of the face to stimulate new collagen growth in the skin. It can be used to reverse the signs of aging to give you a long-lasting improvement in your appearance. Collagen is the structural network of the skin.  As we age, we lose the collagen support in our tissue which leads to wrinkles, volume loss and sagging of our skin.

Sculptra is injected into the deep layers of tissue in the skin, triggering a mild inflammatory reaction in the skin that stimulates the body’s natural healing process, which generates new collagen. Over time, the collagen produced results in smoother, fuller, younger-looking skin.

Benefits of Sculptra

Sculptra can be used to treat:

  • Loss of volume in the cheeks and temples
  • Deep smile lines between the nose and the mouth
  • Lines around the mouth (marionette lines)
  • Hollowing of the lateral face

Thanks to its powerful collagen-stimulating properties, Sculptra is ideal for treating patients of all ages who desire natural restoration and volume. In addition, this biostimulator improves the overall health of your skin. Younger patients love the results and beauty of their facial contour and balance, and more mature patients see results that turn back time. Our injectable experts will perform a full assessment of your skin and will discuss your goals to determine if you are a good candidate for Sculptra during your consultation. Certain lines and wrinkles are a result of the dynamic underlying muscle.

These are best addressed with Botox or Dysport.  It is common for patients to be treated with a combination of Sculptra and Botox or Dysport for ideal outcomes and results. If you’ve never visited our office for BOTOX or Dysport, you’re in luck. We’re excited to bring you the most valuable first-time patient offer in the Portland area. When you buy 20 units of BOTOX or Dysport,* we’ll give you 20 units free, a $300 value. Even if you’ve visited us for other treatments, or have had Botox or Dysport somewhere other than our practice, you’re eligible!

Procedure & Recovery

Sculptra is administered via injection in the lateral areas of the face to produce an overall improvement to the appearance of the cheeks and temples. In order to ensure your comfort, your injector will apply a topical anesthetic to reduce any inflammation. We usually recommend at least 3 sessions over the course of several months to achieve your desired results, but our skincare specialists will work with you to determine your goals and will tailor the treatment plan to your needs. Sculptra injections are different from other dermal filler treatments. Instead of using dermal fillers to address trouble spots.

Sculptra is injected evenly throughout the treatment area then massaged into the skin so that it is distributed evenly. Once you return home, you will be instructed to continue massaging the treated area over the next few days to ensure even distribution and maximum effectiveness. After treatment, you can return to your normal activities. You may experience some mild swelling or redness for the first few days. Your results will start to appear over several weeks as new collagen is created in the skin. Results from Sculptra can last up to 2 years, but individual results may vary.
