Procedure & Recovery
A CoolSculpting Elite session requires about 1 to 2 hours of relaxing in our comfortable treatment room. We apply the CoolSculpting Elite device to your problem area, and it vacuum suctions your bulging tissue between cooling plates. The area feels cold for about 5 minutes, after which it will become numb and you can sit back and read, relax, or even nap. At the end of the treatment cycle, we massage the site for 2 to 3 minutes. You are free to return to work or exercise that day, as no downtime is required.
Over the following few days to weeks, you may experience some achiness, numbness, or itchiness in the area that was treated.
This is typically easily tolerated without the need for pain medication. As the fat cells die and your body breaks them down, you will likely begin to notice a change in your body contour in that area. The previous bulge will smooth out, leaving you with a sleeker shape. This process typically takes approximately 2 to 3 months. Sometimes a repeat treatment is needed to reach your goals, and it is perfectly safe to retreat an area. Occasionally, if we know this will be required, we can treat the same area twice on the first treatment day.
