What to Expect During Your Neck Lift in Portland

Once you’ve been administered general anesthesia, your surgeon will make small incisions in hidden areas behind or beneath the ears. On average, a neck lift takes around two to three hours to complete. After the procedure, our team will need to monitor you for a couple of hours. You’ll then be able to return home with a friend or family member driving you.

Your Neck Lift Recovery

Most patients need approximately one to three weeks of rest and recovery after neck lift surgery before resuming their normal routines. During your recovery, you can expect to experience swelling, soreness, and bruising in the treated area. You can alleviate the swelling by sleeping with your head elevated, and your surgeon will also prescribe pain medication. While your body heals, you’ll need to get lots of rest and stay hydrated. Although you can start easing back into your normal routine after a couple of weeks, you’ll need to wait at least five to six weeks to engage in heavy lifting or strenuous physical activity.
